DAY 9 of 30 days to becoming a Target Marketing Master

This is day 9 and this is the time where you will see some irrational tendencies of your prospects. Many times we experience individuals who get into a direct sales business and think I will not really have to work and I will be the one where I will sponsor that one individual and I will be set for life. The reality is these tendencies are developed because prospects feel that no one is able to help them. They feel that they are in this “thing” all by themselves. This is where you come in to learn to listen attentively and carefully to what they are saying beyond the surface. Listening allows you to understand where they are asking for help and then you can begin to address their needs.

Well, these and other irrational fantasies are not uncommon. There is a saying that in order for you to get something that others do not have you have to do things that others are unwilling to do. This rings true in network marketing business owners all the time because many of them are unwilling to do the work necessary to get the results that they really want. They have in their minds some fantasy world that if they just get into the business everything will come automatically without them doing anything else other than signing on the dotted line.

I want to help dispel this myth and help individuals understand what business is really all about. Business is about doing something strategic, planned, consistent and then getting the results. So, let’s see what people are saying. What are they in lala land about.

CONTINUING TO CREATE YOUR AVATAR

What are my common irrational fantasies?

Example:

  1. I could sign up a top earner/veteran today who’ll bring over his/her entire downline!

  2. This new internet system I just bought is going to do all the hard work for me!

  3. This new company I’ve signed up with is in momentum - finally this is the one!

  4. This new superstar salesman I put in my downline is going to EXPLODE my business!

  5. If they can do it I can do it. I’ll be making 100K per month in 12 months or less!

  6. In 2-3 years I won’t have to work another day in my life. I can ‘will’ my biz to my kids.

  7. Having a downline of ‘independent reps’ will be so much easier than employee’s.

Here is a list that I am sure really took shape very easily. I found it incredibly profound as to how big the problem is and how people are crying out for help. This is the crux of being a good marketer, being able to get in the heads of individuals and understanding their problems. This deep psychology helps you have a conversation and how to relate emotionally. A major part of success is learning to listen. Over the last eight days you should have been listening more to what your customers are saying and beginning to understand what their true needs are in order that you might address them. This is the crux of being a good coach, building trust and getting people to pay for something.
