ARE YOU RUNNING A BUSINESS OR PLAYING LIKE YOU ARE?

Do you get frustrated with not seeing results in your business? Do you lack the get up and go to run your business? Are you stuck in playing like a business owner instead of actually being a business runner? Are you overwhelmed with watching others achieving success and you keep letting the days go by being unproductive? This will not be a typical you can do it speech but it will be one that hits you right between the eyes. I will say this, you can do it. There is no doubt about that. God has equipped each and every one of us with good stuff to succeed and accomplish anything that we set our minds and hearts to doing. However, that does not seem to be the problem. The problem is YOU. Oh yes, YOU. You can be your own worst enemy, but you do not have to.

PURPOSE

Check Yourself

When you got involved in your business you were excited. You probably had very grand dreams of seeing you walk across a stage, or receiving a check with 6 or 7 figures in it. The sky was the limit. We all did and we should have. We should not approach anything with a mediocre attitude. We had dreams and desires to own our own business. That is the beauty of network marketing. But did we expect to actually run it. We may have thought about running a business but more so of owning it. Today you are going to do a truthful self-check analysis. It is needed every now and then. Ask yourself the following questions in regards to your workday?

  • Do you sit down at your desk and check your email? Or do you go to Facebook first?

  • Do you spend time fretting over your training? Is it good enough?

  • Do you spend time learning about your business?

  • Do you work hard to set hours and plan your workday?

  • Do you call your team to see what they are doing?

  • Do you always pick up the phone to talk to your team, no matter what you’re doing?

  • Do you make calls at all?

  • Do you plan on making any calls or will you continue to sit and wish, hope and dream of succeeding?

If you answered any of the aforementioned questions truthfully and came to the conclusion that you are not really trying to run a business then you may have a great case of business lethargy. My guess is that you may probably have a terminal case regarding your network marketing business. Why? Because you are playing office. You are not running your business; you are running away from your business.

DIRECTED

Mind Your Business

If you are a full-time or part-time business owner, when you sit down at your designated area and call someone to offer your opportunity, it should go like this. You call first one then another, then another and then another. You keep calling without interruption until you’ve made all the calls you COMMITTED to making. The clincher here is whether you have actually committed to talking to anyone. If you have not made a commitment to talk to people and share your opportunity then you are just playing office. You can play office or make money it is your choice. But if you said in the beginning that you wanted to make money to change your situation whatever that is you are fooling yourself. YOU ARE PLAYING OFFICE. You can play office or build a team. You can play office or be a team leader. But you CAN NOT play office and make money. You CAN NOT build a team and be a team leader. You will NEVER make money, build a team or become a team leader if you continue to play office.

SUCCESS

Are You Playing Office?

Do you really want to stop playing office? Right now make the decision that you will. It baffles me how even the most experienced network marketers do not plan who they are going to call or what they are going to say when they do call. It is important to be prepared. You should approach your business in the same manner in which you approached working for someone else (if you were successful on a traditional job). There are some individuals who are bringing bad habits that were formed prior to owning their network marketing business. Therefore, they are experiencing similar levels of success, NONE. A business works by using a formula. Prospecting and recruiting does also. Formulas vary based upon the leader’s implementation of it. Here is a formula that seems to work for me.

  • YOU select who you are going to prospect whether warm or cold market. Maintain a list (my list is developed primarily online). I know the dreaded list again. But, how will you remember who you are going to call if you do not write the names down on a sheet of paper that you know where to find or a maintain a list on your computer?

  • YOU play over in the mirror or role play with your up-line what you are going to say based on a simple, but very effective 5 step script (formula!) that gets people to regularly say YES to looking at your business.

  • YOU use a script. I do not like using the word script nor do I actually use one because it sounds so mechanical. What I do is have conversations. One thing that I realize is that some people need scripts in order to get started. The operative word here is started. But the key is to have a loose script that you feel comfortable with. Make sure that it does not make you sound like a sales person. The script should sound as if you are talking to a friend every time--it should sound like you are having a regular conversation.

  • YOU use the script consistently every time you make a prospecting call

  • YOU practice what you are going to say so you own it – it should feel like a second skin

  • YOU make calls consistently

  • YOU grow your paycheck

If you do not have this as a consistent regimen and have it nailed, you are taking too many chances with your future. There is certainly no shame in not knowing what to say or what to do, but it is pathetic not to do something to fix that. You are positioned to earn as much money as you want. You have all the necessary tools to become successful. But….and this is a huge but…..if you want to make career level income and beyond, you need to treat your business like a business. I believe strongly in you. YOU can have PURPOSE DIRECTED SUCCESS today.
