PURPOSE

Have you ever had a situation in which you would get frustrated upon being enthusiastic to give a presentation to someone just to get a "Maybe" or "I'll think about it" or something else other than a firm YES. Did this make you feel rejected? I know I have. I felt this way many times until I truly learned the art of communication.

As most of you may know I am a man of the cloth and because of that I am extremely influenced by the Word of God to say the least. I mention this fact because I am a proponent of the power of words. I am told that there is death and life in the power of the tongue. To this end, what we say is just as important as how we say it when building a business.

Whether it is a network marketing company or a traditional business, if you want to have successful and long-term growth, sales is the bloodline of your business and you MUST know what to say and how to say it to potential prospects.

Dr. Thomas J. Stanley the author of The Millionaire Mind suggests that communication is an art form not only in business but in life. The strategy to effectively communicating is simply changing your words and putting yourself in control of the conversation and the inevitable successful outcome. The moment I learned that a person’s “Why” isn’t important but their “What” was; or that establishing a level of understanding that individuals who purchase will use different words than individuals who do not purchase, I was in control of making individuals feel comfortable instead of threatened. These and other communication strategies are what I learned to apply in my presentations and telephone conversations that turned “no’s” and “maybe’s” into “yes’s”.

SUCCESS

Know this, that words have incredible power and if you learn to use them more effectively as well as strategically understand them you can turn your business into a money making machine. When you sell to an individual you are trying to tap into the psychological as well as the emotional realm that will get them to see the value in what you have for them. And because of the emotional basis that individuals make their decisions you’ll begin to STOP chasing people and start getting people to chase YOU.

Surely it would be nice to learn to market yourself and your business in such a way that it attracts a person to you, which inevitably puts you in a position where your pipeline begins to fill.
