“THE” REASON WHY MOST FAIL IN MLM, AND 5 SIMPLE SOLUTIONS

Are you frustrated with disappointment after disappointment and feeling like a failure? Have you been stuck and it seems as if nothing is going right for you in your business? Do you lack the success that you want and drive and persistence to obtain it? Are you overwhelmed with failing yourself and your family and not seeing an end to those bad decisions that led you there? A major element to changing your outcomes is knowledge and understanding. Here is “THE” reason why most people who own a Network Marketing business fail and I am going to give you some solutions to turn your business around today.

REAPING AND SOWING

I have heard it said that:

The more INPUT, the higher the chances of OUTPUT you’ll get. That’s just a Law of the Universe.”

For me this principle simply put is you reap what you sow. If you sow sparingly you will reap or receive sparingly. As it pertains to Network Marketing when you actively promote your business by inviting, making phone calls, sharing your opportunity, etc. which means that more eyes are seeing your presentation and listening to your message your “Input”. The “Output” received to your business is you will recruit someone, you will get a customer, you will get feedback and develop a pipeline (a list of people who are interested that you need to follow up with) and you begin to experience growth in your business. This my friend is the Law of the Universe.

I know your question is, "If the Law of the Universe is so simple, then how come so many people do not experience success in their businesses?"

The answer to that question is simply there is not enough INPUT.

THE REASON BEHIND THE FAILURE

There is no easy way to state this but there are some direct, tangible reasons that most people quit or fail in their MLM business? However, there is one common link that those individuals possess. I have been in business for myself for over 20 years and the reason that I have found for people’s lack of success is the following and this does not just apply to Network Marketing businesses it is also in life:

Laziness and Procrastination is the reason individuals fail in anything. This trait causes individuals to simply not want to work. In Network Marketing this is the individual who will not pick up a phone to call anyone, they will not tell anyone about their products or opportunity, they will not do anything yet they expect positive results. Network Marketing IS NOT a get rich quick thing as some refers to it, conversely it is a BUSINESS. However, the individuals who possess the L&P syndrome also tend to be individuals where you may experience complaints as well as come across as being victimized.

Many people get involved in an endeavor on mere emotions which, does not necessarily have to be bad. However, it becomes a situation where a person wants things to just happen for them through osmosis, or the waving of a wand. As a mentor, I realize that a person responds and work based on how they feel about the effort needed. As a result, one can explain a person’s inactivity or lack of work because of these 4 fears that are directly linked to their belief system…

  • Fear of Frustration: It never feels good when someone turns you down or says no. However, just as someone can say no there is another someone who can and will say yes. This fear is directly related to not wanting to be disappointed when someone says “no” to them so they would rather do nothing than take a step that may actually lead to a “yes”. You would think that a person would run to success more than failure but because of doubt about their ability to succeed, and the fear of facing the consequences of failure they forget on the opposite side of failure is success, thus the fear of frustration develops.

  • Fear of Lack/loss: Losing anything can be hard but it does not have to be debilitating. It can be difficult to think about the posssiblity of losing a home, income, a car, a loved one, etc. Due to family and friends helping shape you into the person that you have become, there may be a fear of losing them in order to become successful. Whether it is a family member, a friend or a thing your success does not have to be compromised because something is removed. Sometimes you have to lose in order to gain and that in itself does not have to be bad.

  • Fear of being Overwhelmed: Starting and growing a business is a huge task and is not for everyone. There are a lot of moving parts and many times a person who is unfamiliar with something that they are attempting for the very first time it causes a bit of anxiety as to what to do, who to talk to, where to begin, and so forth and so on. These feelings are very real to the individual who possesses them; however these feelings can be conquered by following an easy to implement system.

  • Fear of being Stuck: I have seen many individuals begin to develop momentum in their businesses just to stop at a given point. A lot of times this paralysis is caused by lack of knowledge in an area and being fearful of being judged because of it. I have experienced judgment when I am successful as well as when I was not and I will tell you that I would rather experience judgment during success if I have to experience it at all. One thing I have learned in my years of living is that people will judge no matter what. If being stuck is only due to what you do not know. Guess what, you can find out, and the quickest and easiest way is to talk to someone who is more experienced than you and is in a position you desire to be.

These four fears are SUCCESS barriers; they will stop one from ever promoting something or produce INPUT. As a result, they’ll never see OUTPUT of any kind! The Solution? Become a Fearless Visionary.

5 SIMPLE STEPS TO REMEDY YOUR FEARS

If laziness and procrastination is your only and true reason for failure, I am happy to tell you that there is hope for you yet.

Here are 5 immediate steps you can take to get on the right track to becoming a fearless visionary and achieving your goals and dreams. However the most important word is YOU. YOU are the only one that can get YOU out of the rut.

Step 1: Know Your “What”

Develop a vision board and remind yourself of what is driving you to pursue your endeavor, especially what can you accomplish with it. What benefit does it bring? What is the value? You MUST know exactly what it is you see yourself becoming and stay focused.

Step 2: Have a Complete Understanding of Your Business

Begin to educate yourself with your business. Talk to the leaders, ask them what do they read, what do they listen to, what do they watch, etc. In order for success to come your way you must know about your business in order to tell others.

Step 3: Make a Declaration to Be a Network Marketing Professional

I call this buy-in. A professional albeit a professional athlete, entertainer, corporate, etc. does not have the status of professional because of title alone, it is a state-of-mind. An Olympic athlete has a totally different mindset than that of someone going to the gym to just workout.

If you truly want to become a Professional in Network Marketing, you MUST make a commitment to putting on an apprentice hat and begin your studies to master the skills necessary to become a successful professional in the field and know that success will be based on your tenacity, persistence, and consistency rather than just sheer luck. And as some may say… if you want to be a Network Marketing Professional, act like one!

Step 4: Take Action While You Study

One thing that a Professional knows is that they will learn best while taking action, not procrastinating on action with “I’m still learning” as an excuse! Look at it this way… try to learn how to drive a car without actually getting in the driver’s seat and turning on the ignition. You will know some fundamentals, however it is not truly possible until you actually drive and the same goes for most performance-based endeavors like Network Marketing!

Step 5: Read, Study, and Understand the Buying Conversation instead of Scripts

Just like a restaurant owner’s main function is to serve good quality food, a Network Marketers number one skill is to know how to invite and communicate with others. Of course, you can place your prospect in front of presenters, a PowerPoint, or trainer, but at the end of the day you will have to have a conversation. You are a necessary component to delivery some of the information and what I teach is to have a strategic conversation instead of using scripts. Scripts are fine to get you started but eventually you really need to progress to knowing your business and that is where your studying comes in.

Study the leaders in the network marketing industry along with what your leaders in your opportunity are doing. Study scripts for hot, warm, or cold markets and begin to do inviting drills with your business partners until they become a part of you and you can transition to having real, honest, informed conversations with your prospects.

A former US Navy SEAL bomb-squad technician said it best… “It’s better to defuse fake bombs first before you try to defuse real ones if you want to live.”

Start practicing these five things and watch your change. You will begin to have faith and your confidence will soar and you will find it easier to for input thus releasing the output you deserve. Have PURPOSE DIRECTED SUCCESS today!
