Are you feeling frustrated and have made up your mind to give up? Do you feel stuck and unsure as to what direction you should take because life is just beating you up? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the number of tasks that you face on a daily basis and the number of problems that seem to seep through that you MUST handle? Do you lack the will to fight and to dig deep and to just take one small step toward picking up the phone or talking to someone? Well, if you have any of these feelings or some that I have not covered, I want to tell you that today is all about the importance for YOU to keep on going despite the obstacles. You are made of tough stuff, you can do it.
Ray Higdon featured some incredibly motivating quotes that I wanted to share with you and feel that you would benefit from that has served me well when I have been in a rut.
Keep Going Quotes
“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” ~ Patanjali – the author of Yoga Sutra
“The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal, you can get there if you’re willing to work.” ~ Oprah Winfrey
“Life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing.” ~ Helen Keller
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race” ~ Calvin Coolidge
“If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination. The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying. “Here comes number seventy-one!” ~ Richard M. Devos
“One of the commonest mistakes and one of the costliest is thinking that success is due to some genius, some magic – something or other which we do not possess. Success is generally due to holding on, and failure to letting go. You decide to learn a language, study music, take a course of reading, train yourself physically. Will it be success or failure? It depends upon how much pluck and perseverance that word “decide” contains. The decision that nothing can overrule, the grip that nothing can detach will bring success. Remember the Chinese proverb, “With time and patience, the mulberry leaf becomes satin.” ~ Maltbie Davenport Babcock
The Need For You To Keep On Going
Do you ever get shot down? Here is the reality every single person who has received success in anything has gotten shot down. They also have had bad weeks. If I listened to people who shot me down I would still be in a cubicle in someone’s bank as a mortgage broker or loan officer. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a job because those jobs I held paid the bills and put food on my table and clothes on my back. There are some who love it, but what I have found is that most people do not like working a job.
I pray that you realize that the fact that you were shot down is actually a blessing because it means that you are shooting for something. If people are not telling you that you will not make it or that you are not facing some opposition on occasion it simply means that you are standing still and unproductive. This is no kind of a life just standing still. It is imperative that you keep chugging along because you have no idea what will be the catalyst of your breakthrough. You do not know what will impact your advancement.
Here is what I have found is that my biggest breakthroughs have happened after, did I say after yes, after my biggest breakdowns. I recently had a person who was faced with family issues, work issues, not being able to recruit issues, issues upon issues. She called me and shared with me what was going on and how extremely frustrated she was because of her lack of productivity. I shared with her that this is normal, we all experience days and even weeks where we are unproductive and no matter what we try more issues we face. I told her the key is to just keep going. Pick up your baton and move even if it is little by little. After our call a week and a half later she became a sponsoring machine. The question is why was she able to recruit? Simple, she kept on going.
The fact is you are going to get shot down, you are going to have people tell you that you will not make it, you will have individuals you love and care about not support you and be in your corner, that is going to happen. Also, you are going to have bad days, but the key is that Champions keep going. This business is not the absence of you having bad days or someone shooting you down it is your ability to go on despite that. So make up your mind that you will succeed despite the obstacles that you already know will come. The bottom line and the rub is that no matter what opposition you face, ridicule from those that you love, etc. it is still up to YOU to create your success. The Bible tells me that I have to make my way prosperous which means I have to go and succeed for myself and make no excuses along the way. You can have Purpose Directed Success Today! Please share with someone you know may just need an encouraging word.
