Have you ever been overwhelmed with the decision of owning a network marketing business? Are you frustrated with the results of your business and want to just go back to working a traditional job? Do you feel stuck in your network marketing business because you have not experienced a huge breakthrough? Have you felt that you lack the tenacity to continue with network marketing because it does not seem to be producing fast enough and large enough results? Well, I will tell you that Network Marketing can be discouraging at times and can seem like your decision to enter into the industry was not the best decision that you have made. I want to assure you that nothing could be further from the truth.
THE REAL TRUTH
Network marketing can become an Achilles heel especially when people do not understand what we do. Many of them judge what we do consequently making for a very lonely business at times. To say the least there are a lot of challenges that we face as network marketers and sometimes it becomes even more discouraging when there are those individuals who are in network marketing who throw their hands up and give up and say that dreaded line “I have had it, so I am just going to go get a job”.
Although there are a great number of individuals who are in network marketing who do not get to this point, there are a vast number that do. And of those individuals who get to that breaking point seem to always go one step further and obtain a job and then they experience what I call “the light-bulb moment”. That moment is where they will go “Oh my, I forgot”. I forgot how miserable it is to work for someone else, I forgot how unappreciated you are, I forgot how there is little to no camaraderie, I forgot about the cutthroat behavior. I forgot about how grand the politics are. I forgot about how you have to “kiss the butt” of someone in your organization who you may not respect. I forgot how little compensation and how great the work. The irony is that these same individuals will come to an epiphany and go back to the very thing that led them to get the job in the first place which is network marketing because they understand they left their blessing.
DO NOT STRESS
Here is the rub, many of us forget that no matter where you are whether it is on a job or in your own business you will experience bad days. Therefore, it is unreasonable to think otherwise in network marketing. Network marketing is a business and there will be business circumstances that arise, such as not sponsoring someone, calling an endless amount of leads that do not lead to anything but time wasted, amongst many other scenarios that develop. These are just situations that come because of life and owning your own business no more, no less. To make them out to be more than what they are is where the frustration begins. With that being said, if you have felt that you needed to quit and give up on network marketing because of a few not so good days then you may want to reconsider this. As much as network marketing does not excuse you from problems or circumstances it is a much better option on those bad days than a traditional job is on its best day.
Network Marketing may not be perfect – what is? But, network marketing is just simply better than working for someone else. If you take a look at the alternatives such as not being appreciated, having to humiliate yourself to receive recognition, being underpaid and overworked, or to feel uncomfortable because of the atmosphere, and of course the list goes on and on. Any of these situations places great pressure upon you and it is not worth it in the long run. Thus leads me to this conclusion, if you are going to be a successful network marketer you will have to first make the decision to be totally committed. Once you make the commitment as to the longevity of your stay you will begin to view your business differently, consequently leading to different and more promising results.
