Do you often find yourself lacking the motivation to push through circumstances within your business? Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your lack of motivation and tenacity to fight through obstacles? Are you frustrated with the need to persevere and be determined just to feel that you will not be able to reach your goal in the end? Do you feel stuck in a rut of inconsistency in your life? I want to let you know that you are not by yourself and there is help to overcome these barriers today.
WHY DO PEOPLE QUIT?
We have all probably been informed many times of the importance of being persistently consistent. But the funny thing is many network marketing business owners fail to develop this skillset well enough to succeed. Many seem to give up too quickly, when they may not realize that closing a prospect or making a sale awaits if just for making one more phone call or showing one more presentation. Persistence in anything you do can and will pay dividends. However, as much as this statement is true what is it that makes so many throw their hands up when their futures are in the balance?
Tough times can make quitters out of us all, but the few that persevere through the tough times are the ones that win. Quitting comes in all shapes and sizes. There are some that quit due to a family crisis, children, having too many irons in the fire, depression, etc. All legitimate reasons, but the interesting thing about those reasons is that just because you quit will not make those situations go away. And that is because life will continue to throw you hard balls, and it is how you work through them is what will be the difference maker. So, if you know that you are going to have situations which we all do, find a balance to handling your business oppose to giving up on it. Work what works for you.
If you desire to become a top income earner, you have to learn how to become persistently consistent in this business. You must also learn why many others also struggle in this area in order for you to help them. Remember this, if you lack the initiative to keep forging ahead, for whatever the reason just reach out and get help. There is no need to go it alone! We have ALL heard about the importance of being persistent in our network marketing business right? So why do most people miss the mark? It is mainly due to lack of persistent consistent action.
THE POWER OF CONSISTENT ACTION
Zig Ziglar renowned sales icon once said that success can only be bought on an installment plan that requires daily payments. Profound is not it. This statement is definitely true in the network marketing industry. The type of power that develops from consistent action in your business is incredible.
Think of it like this, if you hired a personal trainer to help with your fitness goals and you did not attend any sessions you would not meet those goals. It would take you actually meeting the personal trainer, doing what you have been instructed to do on a regular basis for you to actually achieve your fitness level. My wife decided last year that she was going to run a mile every day because she wanted to get prepared to run in a marathon. She would wake every morning at 5:30 a.m. and run a mile. She then started running two and increased it from there. But she did not start out running 26 miles. She had to develop a routine and implement it on a daily basis to reach her goal. She was consistent for a very long time before she saw the results that she was seeking.
If you do something once, the world is unlikely to notice. However if you repeat it every day for 5 days a week for 50 weeks and in a year you will have done 250 repetitions and what happens is people will take note along the way. And inevitably you will have increased your skillset and efficiency in performing a given task. Better yet, you will not only have a developed skillset but you will have created a habit that will automatically be sustainable.
PERSISTENT CONCISTENCE PAYS
Imagine making a post to a network marketing forum. Chances are you will probably not receive any leads from that one post. However, if you post a quality piece every day, you would soon become recognized as an expert and your lead flow will significantly increase. This persistent consistence is true for any other marketing method that you may choose to use in your business.
You may never know how your persistent consistence may pay off but it will. Perhaps the biggest return from investing such persistent consistence is the effect it has on your down line. The reps you enroll into your business are watching and they will tend to follow your lead, whether it is good or bad. Another effect of persistent consistence is that you will stay engaged with your organization, whereby retention rates will increase. I have heard it said in business that good companies do not attract good employees, good managers attract good employees. Although we are not employers we are business partners, when we are good business partners we attract good business partners. You attract what and who you are.
DEVELOP THE HABIT OF PERSISTENT CONSISTENCE
Not only is it important to develop the habit of persistent consistence but it is equally important to be persistent in your actions to grow your business. Do not get overwhelmed in this process; start with building on small steps. If you ever played with Legos you know you have to start with one block and add another then another. Developing the habit of consistency is no different. You start where YOU are (wherever that is) – block one. Then select one method of building your businesses if that is having consistent home meetings, committing to call 20 people every day, etc., and stick with it until it is mastered – block two. Then add another method – block three and do the same while you continue employing the first method. If you give up before you get started or learn the basics, you will find yourself going from one thing to the next and never developing any momentum.
No matter what company you represent, if you have obtained a modicum of success and there are others who would like to also, they will find that the problem is not with the company, the products, or the compensation plan. The problem tends to normally lie with YOU. I know that is a hard reality to face that YOU could be your own problem but it could be something that you are either doing or not doing. We tend to take the same skillsets and work habits wherever we go, so the solution is to not switch companies but to develop proper habits, or skillsets.
Remember the personal trainer I talked about earlier. Well, think about it if you hired a trainer, showed up consistently for weeks and then all of a sudden quit training, realistically you could not expect to improve. Of course not, you would have to continue your routine until you reached your goals. And even after reaching your goals in order to maintain your level of success you would either set higher or new goals or you would need to stay on a maintenance program to keep the results you have already achieved. The same is true for your business.
Your persistent consistent actions are most critical to your success in your network marketing business. Consistency is so vital that I would even say that taking less massive action on a regimented schedule that is maintainable during a long-term period of time than the frequency or the magnitude of your actions. A critical portion of what helps in creating consistency is being realistic with your resources, time, and schedule. Once you are honest with what you are truly capable of handling then you are able to not only stay on the schedule you can sustain until you are successful. If you are not being persistent and consistent, you are non-existent.
