WHY AM I GETTING REJECTED?

Are you frustrated with the number of rejections that you are receiving? Are you stuck in trying to figure out why you are experiencing so many MLM Rejections? Do you lack the experience to stop people from rejecting you? Are you overwhelmed with thinking that you are the only one experiencing rejection? Unfortunately I have to break some bad news to you. If you are experiencing rejection, you will continue. That my friend sadly is a reality of network marketing or MLM business owners; we experience rejection from time to time.

PURPOSE

What Am I Doing Wrong?

Now you may take inventory and feel that you are receiving an unparalleled amount of rejections. That could be true, but it only seems that way. It may seem as if when you pitch someone your opportunity they try to run away from you faster than Usain Bolt ran the 100m in the 2012 London Olympics! Why? You may wonder and begin justifying to yourself about your opportunity. You may say my company’s products are good. The opportunity is a viable one? We have a great compensation plan? Since we know that this is all probably true, then why are they running? There are so many answers to that question. It is impossible to answer them all. I hope after reading this, you will know why you are getting rejected in your MLM opportunity. I will answer you in broad terms.

Why Do I Keep Getting MLM Rejections?

1) Your Company Is Garbage – Really? Yes. Believe it or not there are some truly great companies, but there are some not so great companies also. The key is to make sure that you are part of a great company! If you aren’t sure what makes a fantastic company, be sure to read my article: What Makes a Great MLM Company. If a company looks unprofessional the likelihood of it not being a great company is high. Meaning, if you have videos and links that look as if they were created in someone’s basement by their 3 year old you may want to consider how great of a company it is. Your tools are extremely valuable to your growth. Unprofessional websites and marketing tools are some of the largest factors to MLM rejections. Think about it would you want to be involved in a company that did not put much effort or thought to presenting a professional face or allowing you to do so?

2) Prospecting The Wrong People – A famous thought by most MLMers “Everybody should want my product/service!” Everyone should want many of the products or services out here but the reality is they do not. Brock Blohm said it best, you could hypothetically have a product that cures cancer, and be handing it out for only a dollar – and there would still be people out who are simply not interested in it. Seems crazy, does not it? Yep. It is. My advice is to not spend your valuable time trying to convince, coerce or manipulate people into seeing what you see. The smart thing to do is to find the right people to prospect. Locate individuals who actually are interested in your product/service, or your MLM opportunity. You will find that if you talk to people who are interested in starting a home based business, or want the exact products you are offering, your MLM rejections will go down significantly.

3) Your Presentation Skills – I am a believer that you should not use scripts when you are building your business. Why? Simply because people are great readers of other people. They can tell when you are reading off a piece of paper. I realize that some people may need scripts to get them started which is perfectly ok to get you going. But the script should serve more as notes rather than a rehearsed speech. When I present I have conversations with individuals. I talk to people as if they have been a friend of mine for years. But I speak using my knowledge and experience. I talk to them from my heart. People do not want to talk to a robot that is why many people do not like automated voice mails. People want to connect with a real human being! It is important to have a conversation that allows you to get to know the person. Talk about yourself, your family and become genuinely curious and concerned about them and their situation. Begin to develop a friendship/relationship. Just pay close attention and you will see that your MLM rejections will go down simply because when people have a ‘connection’ with you, they are more willing to hear what you have to say.

4) Follow Up, Follow Up, Follow Up – Do not be a one hit wonder. I get your contact information, schedule a meeting, leave a message, speak to you briefly, etc. but I will not call again. Each company has its own training methods that can be used for effective follow up. Over the years I have been able to develop a method that works well for me. However, many companies have weekly conference calls, webinars, etc. that you can patch your potential prospect into. If you are able to get your prospect on a call, or webinar what that does for you is allows them to hear and see the high-energy and positivity that the company is exuding. After they have heard or seen the sales tool that you have utilized the easiest part is to FOLLOW UP. Follow Up is simply customer service. All businesses that are successful whether you are a traditional business or a network marketing business you MUST provide customer service. Therefore, if you desire to have success in the MLM industry you will follow up with your leads. Those that have had a great deal of success in this industry will tell you that following up with your prospects is one of the more important elements to increasing your success-rate and decreasing your overall MLM rejection-rate.

5) P.D.D. – I know you are wondering what that Acronym stands for. I am glad that you asked. It stands for Passion. Desire. Drive. Simply put, get excited! If you are not excited about your opportunity you either need to find a new one or do something else. There is no reason at all that YOU should not be absolutely thrilled that you are partnered with your company. YOU should be its biggest fan after all you partnered with it. YOU should be extremely supportive of its corporate mission and want to tell any and all that you encounter. This excitement that you have for the company will carry over to others.

Consequently, when you are sharing your opportunity with others you can express your excitement and passion to them. Your excitement and passion is like a wave people will catch it. Excitement is contagious. If you will get excited you will find that others will most likely too.

6) Urgency – This trait is probably the most underestimated trait that needs to be developed. Developing a sense of urgency is a key component to decreasing your MLM rejection because what urgency is projecting your level of determination to reach your goals. If you operate with a level of urgency you will begin to reach bonus levels quicker. And where you may have missed a bonus level if you were vacillate; if you are determined in your business goals you will reap great rewards. Here is the thing, when you understand how your company’s compensation plan works, you will understand the importance of ‘now’ and not next week.

SUCCESS

You Have Reached Rejection Prevention Specialist Status!

Not really. But what I can tell you is that you are a little more educated. Remember – everything you do well will take consistency. Rome was not built in a day. If you write these tips down and apply them, you should see a change within your business – at least a reduction in rejections. You must realize that you need training.
